I recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan from October 2009 - April 2010. While I was there I had the opportunity to travel around a bit and see some beautiful places. Most of these pictures are from Bamiyan, where the Buddha's are. I just think the news doesn't always capture how beautiful the countryside out there is, because they are too busy showing all of the tragedy. They architecture was absolutely incredible, considering that they built it thousands of years ago.

ReplyDeleteGreat pics Jess!! Bamyan REALLY is a whole world away from the rest of Afghan huh. It's pretty much an example of how the country COULD turn out, if it could sort out it's issues... TALL order but eh!! It's a pity you didn't get out to see the Band-i Amir lakes - they're BREATHTAKINGLY gorgeous!! Anyways, love your work girl!!
